You Me at Six Launch YOUMonday

You Me At Six has launched YOUMonday, to promote self-care, wellness and positivity, and to fight against ‘Blue Monday.’

Sky Travel suggested in 2005 that there is a particular day in January seen as the most depressing day of the year, deemed as ‘Blue Monday.‘ It typically falls on the third Monday of January, and falls around the time where the Christmas novelty is wearing off, and people are generally feeling less optimistic about the new year.

To promote positive mental health and self-care, You Me At Six are encouraging everyone to take time for themselves, and ensure people are looking after their mental health. The idea of YOUMonday is to forget the preconceived notions that certain days are going to be depressing, and ensure you are taking time to look after yourself.

“2020 presented us with some of the most challenging circumstances ever, and 2021 is no place for a Blue Monday. We hope that everyone can join us in taking a little time out for themselves today, to do something for YOU. Stay safe, stay positive and support each other.” – Josh Franceschi, vocalist of You Me at Six

YOUMonday follows the release of You Me At Six’s new album ‘SUCKAPUNCH.’ The band travelled to Thailand’s Karma Sound Studio to record the album, as a way to unplug and immerse themselves in the music.

I find it incredibly important to talk about my mental health with my family and close friends. One thing I get from it is a new perspective and a way of thinking that maybe I hadn’t thought of myself. Exercise has been something that has really helped me over the past year. I’ve gone through quite a lot emotionally and found this gives me such a great release of endorphins and sets me up positively for the day.” – Max Helyer, guitarist of You Me At Six in conversation with YoungMinds

Fans can follow #YOUMonday to see what each member of You Me at Six is doing to celebrate, including a vegan cooking lesson from Josh Franceschi and a sourdough baking 101 class with Matt Barnes.
