Scott Quinn is back, with his new single ‘Better For Me.’
The Yorkshire born singer-songwriter Scott Quinn isn’t just an amazing singer, but has also written songs for BTS, Zara Larsson and Keith Urban. He started his solo career with his first single ‘There For You‘ in 2016 and has since then consecutively released music every year.
Over the years, we have heard that his productions have become more electronic and punchier, rather than the ambient and light drum sounds we heard in tracks like ‘Delicate‘ and ‘Know Me.’ We always welcome the natural transition, and it’s nice to see an artist develop and find their sound over time. It is always great to hear change and progression, as we can then be a part of the artists’ growth over time.
Scott Quinn knows how to write a catchy tune, and he proves it once again with ‘Better for Me.’ The repeating guitar keeps you moving throughout the song, a fresh pop tune that you could hear being played on the radio, and in your favourite playlists. As a pop lover myself, I love to hear new artists perfect a good pop tune.
It has become more common to hear a song start with a chorus, but Quinn makes it sound so effortless. While there are multiple parts repeated, he reinvents them with more production. While you’ve heard the same lyrics before, you can already sing along the third time along. My favourite part of the track is when the chorus comes around again around a minute into the song, fulfilling the desire that you have been waiting for.
I am excited to hear where he bring to his music next time around. Hopefully, the last two singles will build up to an EP or album, as we would love to hear more from him.
