America Jayne Returns With Latest Single ‘Survive’

Connecticut native America Jayne has just released her latest single, ‘Survive.’ The new track is another indie rock anthem, to add to her growing repertoire.

‘Survive’ is a song Jayne wrote after moving from a small town in Connecticut to New York in 2018, originally in a bid to pursue her career in theatre. Ultimately, she found that both her voice and ability to play the guitar were the things she was most passionate about.

Describing the song as a ‘young adult anthem about learning how to grow up and get by’ on her Instagram, she combines a pacing guitar with a steady drumbeat, to form a song that is not too dissimilar in nature to that of Julien Baker’s work. The lyrics detail the events of a conversation between herself and somebody else, in this case, a past lover. They discuss getting older and needing help to figure out how to do things on your own for the first time.

Emotions are running high and Jayne is unapologetically raw in the description of her experience. She provides a personal account of a feeling that will be all too familiar with those in their early twenties, to those who have managed to get out and experience the world and all it has to offer by themselves.  This song provides a sense of reassurance on the matter, it’s a much needed reminder that nobody is alone in their experiences.

It is only right to brand an artist of America Jayne’s type as a hidden gem, who is on the path to achieve great things. She has already gathered quite a large following within New York having played a few shows around the city to promote the string of singles she has released thus far.
