Jack Fox Releases New Single ‘Shotgun Hotline’

Old school hip-hop is back, and Jack Fox needs a back massage from carrying around all of these funky vibes. Sampling Shotgun’s Hotline and combining it with some punchy rhymes, Fox has created a North East version of some classic 90s rap. He produced and mixed this tune with Harbourmaster Productions

If you are not bobbing your head with the beat as if you were in a Lowrider with your homies, are you even feeling the tune? The gorgeous ‘Hotline’ sample with drums and bass is a simple, but filling combination to rap over. Fox’s rhymes and storylines tend to be very separate from each other, without obvious links. In these two and half minutes, he manages to pay tribute to Jackie Charlton, express his hometown pride for South Shields, and talk about his sex life.

He has a gift for coming up with funny and punchy lines such as “She got a lot of ass, no brains.” It might sound somewhat ridiculous, but it makes so much sense when used in the right context. This song definitely comes from a specific angle, as if Jack Fox was some sort of a character in a movie. It would be so easy to imagine him spitting some bars over a Grover Washington ‘Just The Two Of Us’ sample or even ‘Careless Whisper’ by George Michael. Fox is a very open-minded and creative artist when it comes to making music, making him a great threat to his other peers in the same field.

RIDE Music described Jack as: “Simply a listen that inspires an emotional response every time.” I completely agree with this statement, while still bumping to the beat.
