The Pale White Release New Single ‘Glue’

Arriving in our ears with their new lemony fresh branding, The Pale White are back again with their new and thunderous track, titled Glue. With no sign of slowing down, our favourite Northern trio are clearly making good use of their free time in quarantine.

The Pale White broadened their fanbase on tours around the United Kingdom and Europe with the likes of We Are Scientists, Sam Fender, and Twin Atlantic. Their shows have ranged from sell-out headliners at hometown venues like Newcastle Riverside and Northumbria Institute, to BBC Introducing slots at Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds.

Opening with their classic Hope / Booth harmonies, the track introduces distorted and heavy guitars, reminiscent of tracks by artists like Queens of the Stone Age. A fast change leads to the pensive initial line: ‘When life gives you limes, lemonade is something to die for.’ Quickly establishing their zesty new sound, the first verse immediately leaves you hooked. Funky sounding bass lines precede punchy vocals, with memorable and anecdotal lyrics.

The powerful deliverance of lyrics, paired alongside the mirroring guitar melodies imply a definite sense of certainty and conviction from vocalist Adam Hope. The power in this new track certainly makes it a contender for Spotify’s Walk Like a Badass playlist, a track-list currently featuring Royal Blood, The Black Keys, and The White Stripes.

Taking to twitter, the band shared the meaning of their new track, regarding personal motivation and perseverance:

‘It’s a metaphor for a thought that’s stuck in your mind, no matter what time of day, and no matter what happens. It’s an ambition that drives you and makes your next move crystal clear. It should basically be soundtracking a Rocky training montage.’

The anecdotal nature of Glue’s lyrics are poignant, meaning that you’ll likely be recalling lyrics for days to come: ‘If the shoe don’t fit, carry on running.’ With each release, The Pale White have illustrated their carefully constructed songwriting, resulting in expertly crafted guitar music. The overall track behaves as though following a story arc, sounding like it would fit perfectly as the soundtrack for an action film trailer. The rise and fall of the vocals, striking guitar themes, and energetic percussion results in an overall brilliant new track, that certainly deserves to be played on repeat.
